Modelling - Hallway - hand rails

Remove highlighted geometry to allow hand rail to ''sit'' in holder not be constrained vertically - in design hand rail is lifted to open / hold door open

Isolated view of desired result

Replicate hand rail using mirror tool

Adjust hand rail positions as required

Adjust length and position of connector as required

To create more uniformity in final video (group work, multiple scenes) imported textures from group member to use on wooden beams (all beams same appearance throughout) - textures used as bitmaps - applied to standard materials in diffuse and bump - applied uvw map (box) to geometry in scene - adjusted for appearance
Applied to all beams in guild hall scene

Addressed hallway scene - applied texture - applied uvw map - required adjusting - since difference beam snap and sizes required different adjustment amounts to gain desired effects - replicated material and all inks (highlight all required material in slate material editor - hold shift and drag - choose copy
Then apply new copied material to scene and adjust without distorting pervious material to be used on other beams (already adjusted for purpose

Render checked to adjust bump map

applied new adjusted texture to half of beams and rendered for comparison - appearance difference is noticeable

Applied to entire scene for uniformity

Use details reference planes (planes align on detail sketches not major sketches)

Highlight details reference planes and hallway geometry - enter isolation mode

Hallway does not align with detail pictures - adjustments required

Added boxes to front beams to extend to correct depth (extra width required hence not simply extruded)

Adapted roof - side walls to match profile - repositioned beams - adjusted and created more slats as required
Make walls see through using alt+x - see-through mode

Added geometry that will be used to remove wall segments (for doorways ~ doors)

highlight everything in scene - exit isolation mode - select steps and banisters as well - re-enter isolation mode

realign steps to fit hallway

Turning to opposite side view in orthographic mode reference plane not visible - discovered due to changing light source in scene (adding lights)

Solved by applying self illumination to reference plane material

Slates need to be repositioned / created using new information

Highlight created slates - scale width + add more slates vertically

Scale lower slates (on right - across to fit gap)

[picture doesn't show clearly] add slates in thin gap next to window + beam to cover gap

Select hallway wall geometry - highlight doorway covering polygons - remove

Remove banisters (will start over)

Repeat earlier process to add hallway floor to isolation mode

Reposition to fit scene

Render test that ground aligns with steps without gaps

Exit isolation mode - unhide all (if necessary)
Found that ground plane lays over new lowered hallway floor

Use connect to add geometry (2 lines - width of path)

Lower geometry below hallway steps + stone floor (screen shot shows this in isolation mode)

Added plank of wood to allow more seamless transition from ground stones to grass (opposite side of hallway to previous screen shots)
