Modeling - building - details - doors



Select profile view showing doors orthographically
Obtain as much as detail as possible from reference planes


Select wall geometry - Add geometry to fill gap via bridge and cap
Detach created highlighted geometry
Remove any extra geometry to leave single polygon


Inset to match reference plane (2x once for boarder, once for detail)  - alt + q = isolation mode


Keep second inset highlighted - push back into door creating indent feature


Select boarder (outside surrounding edge) - hold shift - drag new geometry backward for door depth
Will not  finish back of door for now - will decide later on appropriate finish


Exit isolation mode - door will already be in correct position due to creation method


Hide door in new layer - create cylinder to follow door handle profile


Create geometry - splines - line - draw basic line to follow profile of handle


Highlight vertex points - right click - change corners to biezer corners / smooth to create fluid profile of door handle


Scroll down options - tick box renderable - tick box render in viewport - select diameter


unhide door - group door + handle


Copy geometry (group) to cover identical doors


Door type 2 - Create single geometry as before - single boarder inset - 2 lines of connect on inside polygon (isolation mode)


Apply chamfer to connect geometry


Highlight 3 main inner sections - extrude to add detail


Highlight outside boarder - extrude as well


Exit isolation mode add door handle
(copied from another door) - (ungroup copy handle as necessary)


Group door - copy as required



Apply wood textures to doors
use same imported wood file used on beams (first mention of file transfer in hallway section)


Render test to check settings - adjust of necessary
