Drag highlight horizontal edges (drag highlighting allows for hidden geometry lines to be highlighted as well)
Use connect to add geometry lines to align with steps
Enter isolation mode - perspective view - highlight top polygons except first step
Extrude to approx. height of second step
Repeat and extrude for each step
Until all steps are done
Revert to orthographic side view - remove isolation mode
Align steps to profile
View don't align fully so "best guess" is required to fit geometry into scene
