Modeling - building - Adaptation - New Architectural drawings

New architect drawings were received - these will be implemented into workspace to replace current reference planes - However not entirely accurate (to be used for scaling officially) will allow for easier duplication of guild halls main features
Using layers hide all geometry except walls - roof and chimney (make see through)
Create plane

Make sure plane can cover profile
apply uvw map as before

Create standard material using required image as bitmap and linking to diffuse channel as before
apply material to plane - apply bitmap fit and re-select file

Copy plane - move to opposite side of building - rotate 180'

To allow for ability to see through back of plane - object properties - turn on back face cull
This allows for view though back of object
Cannot select object from back side with back face cull turned on

Boarder is still visible
Apply back face cull to original reference plane

Create and apply correct reference material to second plane

Creaate reference planes using same techniques as before one on top of the other
layers can be used to show floors one at the time
however all require alignment first

Align general scale of building as closely as possible - ignore details (windows etc) as will be adjusted later - [scale of view from side must be kept with opposing view]

Repeat reference plane creation process for front and back views - front view can be align very accurately and should be used to scale this view and opposing view

Use cale an position to align walls - roof declines and will not align initially and will be adjusted later

Chimney is a consistence piece of geometry for opposing reference profiles - use to make sure reference pictures are to a constant scale

Align with opposing picture

Due to creation method of walls - vertices can be easily move without effecting wall overall geometry
Drag vertices in pairs (to keep horizontal / vertical  alignment) to new poisons of windows
Task could also be completed using edge selection and scale tool

Re-align brickwork to slope of ground

Align wall with roof contours

With new reference pictures doorways can now be clearly visualised and included
Highlight and remove appropriate geometry

Align doorways to reference pictures

Repeat process for opposing wall

Reference beams require - realigning to new reference planes

Simply move into new position

Unhide hallway geometry

Re - align hallway to new reference views

Unhide beams - using re positioned hallway as guide - re position beams

Position head on

As well as side on

New detail can now be seen on certain windows - new detail will be added

Create frame as before

New level of grid window can be viewed - much smaller grid pattern required

Rebuild as before

Using required section

Extra window frames (where window sections can be opened) are now visible

For now simple overlapping frame pieces will be added for visual effect with not animatable application

These are separate pieces of geometry (boxes - inset - remove inset - bridge gap etc)
Having separate geometry allows for easy application of separate materials if necessary - also if not required at later date can be easily removed

Apply to all windows where necessary

Apply same material frames as well where required

To quickly correct frames rather then generating from scratch
Highlight geometry to be removed - remove (not due to build method boxes can be removed without directly effecting adjacent box

Boarder selection modifier - highlight "hole" - cap

To extend hight (extra segments vertically) - copy (drag vertically down) - remove bottom segments of top geometry - remove top segments of bottom piece of geometry

Place Directly adjacent  - attach - highlight bottom row of vertices + top row of vertices of 2 pieces - perform weld to join (adjust threshold accordingly)
Trim extra vertical geometry if necessary as before

Apply frame as required

Unique windows

Use copies of components

Simple geometry manipulation can quickly create an the obscure shapes required

Create windows for front wall - aligned to reference picture

Add geometry to wall via connect tool

Add where required

Align to trace window profiles + remove polygon within traced area

Back wall - adjust profile to match new reference picture

Begin unhiding layers to see what needs adjusting

Steps do not align with proposed plan

Re-size and align with reference picture - (drag select to make sure vertices on both sides are selected(hidden behind in orthographic view))

From above - Top view - align all related geometry i.e. walls
Picture shows alignment of steps (hallway steps) + walls (see through) - railing

Create outside wall following profile - extrude height to align with profile reference plane (front)

Adjustment were made - meaning walls no longer align with other geometry

Move geometry (adjust positions) - to correct for newly formed gaps and problems

Fixing walls will requires geometry relying on wall geometry to be adjusted - roof - drain pipes - windows - floor etc

Picture showing window positions require adjustments

Picture showing beam references require adjusting

Reference planes show different results for steps outside of building - decided to revert to previous steps
File - import - merge - select previous save file containing original steps - select steps via name in list - ok to import (warning will import into layer with same name and properties - i.e. if placed in steps layer (as was) and current steps layer is hidden , imported geometry will be hidden)

Roof slants and rotates - with single polygon length - distortion of polygon occurs - adding geometry allows for roof "twist" without direct distortion (more stable model)
(Also add geometry to piece underneath roof) (roof is 2 pieces)

Adjustments for end wall - add geometry via connect

Add geometry to allow for removal of bottom sections as shown
